Mircette (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) drug that includes some female hormones that prevent ovulation (the discharge of an egg from an ovary). This drug also causes changes in the female uterine lining and cervical mucus, making it harder for spermatozoid to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
Mircette generic (birth-control tablets) is a drug that used to prevent or reduce the likelihood of pregnancy or childbirth. Estrogen and progestin are two female sex hormones. Combinations of progestin and estrogen work by preventing ovulation (the discharge of eggs from the ovaries). They also replace the lining of the uterus to prevent pregnancy from developing and change the mucus at the cervix to prevent spermatozoid (male reproductive cells) from entering.
Oral contraceptives (such as Mircette) are a very efficient method of birth control, but they do not prevent the spread of human immunodeficiency virus (such as AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Some of the oral contraceptives are also used to relieve the symptoms of a premenstrual dysphoric disorder (physical and emotional symptoms that occur before the menstrual period each month) in women who have chosen to use an oral contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
Oral contraceptives come in packets of 28, 56, or 84 pills to take by mouth once a day, every day or almost every day of a regular cycle. To avoid nausea, take oral contraceptive medications with milk or food. Take your oral contraceptive pills at the same time every day. Take an oral contraceptive exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it.

I've had alot of trouble with the pill and I also wish that someone had told me (namely my Dr.) that the pill could make you loose your mind. I have switched around ALOT but this pill is good for me in all ways except that I have low sex drive. My breast did not grow as has been reported by several others on here (bummer!). It seems to keep me in an even mood. Over all I think it's the best so far...
I only stayed on this pill for 2 weeks, I got on it because I did not have a period at all. It made me slightly nauseous and fatigued also I got a yeast infection from it the first two weeks. It did not do anything for my acne but also did not make it worse. It was not horrible but I switched and I am starting Enpresse tonight. Please keep in mind everyone responds to different doses of hormones differently and my doctor told me birth control is trial and error.
I don't like this birth control pill.
This birth control made my breasts grow about two cup sizes which would have been fine, except that I'm already a DD and it got to the point where I was having back pain. I also became moodier, I felt emotional like I was PMSing everyday. I am going to switch to a pill with lower progesetin like Alesse because of these side effects. On the plus side, my skin was perfect, so I can see this pill working well for other women.
I have PCOS and I had extreme bleeding and huge clots during my period. I was in alot of pain and I had no energy. My doctor put me on Ortho-Cept because the birth control she originally put me on didn't help, so this did and it made it so I wasn't bleeding and in pain. I'm only doing a month or 2 of this birth control but you know what..I'm happy on it.
Instantly grew a cup size, my skin wasn't changed, and periods were regular. The only terrible side effect was mood swings. I pushed everyone I loved away, I was being treated for depression. I was misserable until I stopped taking the pill and instantly went back to my normal self. I wish someone would have warned me that birth control could have such an effect! My boobs shrank back to normal 2 days after I stopped taking it. Might work differently for someone else.
